Early Tuesday storms passed up to 5 inches across the Rio Grande Valley, leading to some flooding. Other areas had fewer, but some got good soaking.
The first storms arrived Monday night and early Tuesday and by Tuesday morning will take place east of the Rio Grande plains in south-central Texas. Heavy rains are possible in some areas.
The next wave of storms will move in late Tuesday to early Wednesday with the potential for severe storms. This can cause severe hail with harmful winds and isolated tornadoes. Again, excessive rain could be observed in some areas, and the cells were repeatedly trained over the same areas.
A weak cold front is set to end rain on Wednesday afternoon with downpours and storms in South Texas lasting until early Thursday.
Calm weather and a warming trend will end the week.
