Trent Williams is one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL. Now he’s taken recognition for that talent to a new level, receiving a high honor from EA Sports, the developer of the Madden video game series.
On Wednesday, Williams was informed that he is the first forward in the history of the game to join the 99 club by earning a 99 player rating.
Former NFL running back Adrian Peterson, a former Oklahoma Sooners standout, posted a video on social media of EA Sports honoring Williams by presenting him with a gift box to commemorate the honor.
Williams took a close look at the gift box and said, “Man, this is crazy. I appreciate that.”
Williams just finished his second season with the San Francisco 49ers after nine seasons in Washington. He is a nine-time Pro Bowler and was just named first-team All-Pro for the first time.
The 99 Club represents the highest award for video games in the world, showing that the player has almost no flaws in his position. Basically, it’s a flawless rating.
