NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Tuesday is election day in Texas again. This time, voters decide who will win the first rounds and will represent each party in November. This is the political equivalent of Game 7.

Here’s a summary of five key races to watch on Tuesday night:

1. Republican Second Round for the Attorney General of Texas

One of the most controversial races is the second round of Republicans for the post of Attorney General. Two-term Ken Paxton is challenged by George W. Bush, Texas land commissioner. Paxton played his part supported by former President Donald Trump and called Bush too liberal.

Bush, on the other hand, told Republican voters to back down from Paxton because of his legal problems. Paxton charged with a state crime and his former senior lieutenants in the Attorney General’s Office filed charges of bribery against him and reportedly appealed to the FBI.

Paxton denies any wrongdoing and leads in Bush polls.

2. Democratic Second Round for the Attorney General of Texas

On the other side of the aisle, another race we are watching closely is the second round of the Democratic Party for the post of Attorney General.

The case came to former ACLU attorney Rachel Garza and former Galveston mayor Joe Jaworski. Garcia maintained the lead in the polls.

We interviewed both candidates in this race. Watch Jack Fink’s conversation with Jaworski here. Click here for his conversation with Garza.

3. Democratic second round for the lieutenant governor of Texas

Mike Collier and Michelle Beckley are running for governor in the second round. Collier ran against Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick in 2018, and Beckley is the state representative in Carolton.

Polls are controversial: in one last month, Collier led, and in one this month – Beckley. Many say they do not yet know who to vote for.

4. Democratic second round of elections of the 30th constituency

This is followed by a second round from the Democratic Party to Congress ’30th constituency between Yasmine Crockett, a Dallas state representative, and Jane Hope Hamilton, who was a congressional staffer and actively involved in Democratic politics at the local level.

There are no polls in this race, but Crockett nearly won the primaries on March 1st.

Crockett was backed by longtime congressman Eddie Bernice Johnson, whose retirement has left the place open. Hamilton was backed by State Senator Royce West, Congressman Mark Weesey and longtime Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price.

Last week Jack Fink interviewed Crockett and Hamilton.

5. Republican second round for Taranto County Attorney

Finally, be sure to watch the second round of Republicans for Taranto County Attorney between former Judge Phil Sorels and State Representative Matt Krause.

Sorels received the support of former President Trump and former Gov. Rick Perry. Krause received the support of Senator Ted Cruz and Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Weyburn.
