Christians in a small town in Texas celebrate the preservation of the holy cross, which remains standing despite the fire that is tearing apart the church where it was installed.

On Friday, June 17, a fire destroyed Balsora Baptist Church in Bridgeport, Texas.

The cause of the fire is still being determined, but it was strong enough to collapse the roof of the church while firefighters battled the blaze.

In a Facebook post, the Wise County Fire Department said: “A devastating loss to our community, but a spectacle worth watching.

“The fire took away the structure, but not the cross.

A fire destroyed Balsora Baptist Church in Bridgeport, Texas, on Friday, June 17th. The cause of the fire is still being determined, but it was strong enough to collapse the roof of the church while firefighters battled the blaze.

“A symbol that the building was just that, a building. The church is an assembly, and where two or more gather, there it will be. ”

The fire company suggested the fire was caused by extreme heat in the region, where last week temperatures rose to 100F.

“Thank you very much for your mutual assistance, once again.

“Extreme temperatures do not impose resources and labor on such events.

“Churches also pose a danger due to the large space of shrines and large halls, which makes them very prone to collapse.”

The injured rescuers were treated at local hospitals, and are expected to recover.

A prayer meeting was held at the church on Sunday.

On Facebook, those gathered celebrated the cross, which is still preserved.
