On Tuesday, ESPN as part of a presentation to advertisers in New York will announce three huge matches that will start the football season at the college, a new agreement on the Australian Open and two new documentaries “30 on 30”.

ABC has a doubleheader on Sept. 3 to start the season. Georgia will meet Oregon in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff match in Atlanta at 3:30 p.m. Apart from the fact that the Bulldogs are opening the defense of the country’s title, this is the first game for Ducks coach Dan Lenning, Georgia’s defense coordinator for the last two seasons.

New Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman will make his away debut against Ohio at 7:30 p.m. The day will begin with ESPN’s “College GameDay,” which runs from Columbus, Ohio, for the season’s first show on campus.

Former Fighting Irish coach Brian Kelly will also be in the spotlight of ABC in prime time next night when LSU meet with Florida in New Orleans.

Many thought the ABC might have to give up the Notre Dame-Ohio game so that Fox could release Joe Buck early from the contract to join Troy Aikman in the “Football on Monday” booth. But ESPN executive vice president of programming Burke Magnus said it was not being considered.

“Fox has a total selection of № 1 of the Big 10. This has historically and accordingly every year been Ohio-Michigan. We knew that Notre Dame Ohio would come to us at number 2, and then we weren’t going to let it go, ”Magnus said. “It’s just a huge match to start the season. The weekend of Labor Day became such a franchise for us. This is clear for NFL competitions, and there are so many significant football games in college.

On Sept. 24, ABC will hold a game between Wisconsin and Ohio, Texas against Oklahoma, in Dallas on Oct. 8, and Florida in Florida on Nov. 25. The meeting between Sunshine State rivals will take place the day after Thanksgiving for the first time.

ESPN has extended its contract for the Australian Open until 2031. Last year, she extended her contract with Wimbledon until 2035 and has rights to the US Open until 2025.

The nine-year agreement with Tennis Australia will include an increase in hours on ESPN and ESPN2. Spectators complained about the reduced coverage of this year’s tournament on linear channels, especially at night, when night matches are held in Australia. These matches were on the ESPN + streaming service.

“Honestly, we have affordability, so we’re going to add to line networks overnight. I think it will balance the balance between linear and direct consumers, ”Magnus said. “There will still be hundreds of matches on ESPN +, but the combination of linear and digital will lean more towards the linear.”

ESPN + will continue to receive exclusive coverage of all non-ESPN or ESPN2 matches, as well as replays of completed on-demand matches and daily highlights. On the middle and last weekend of the tournament, ABC will also broadcast a one-hour show of highlights.

Among other ESPN announcements on Tuesday:

This year, ESPN Films will show two documentaries, 30 on 30, about the great Janet Lee, nicknamed the Black Widow, and the 2000 Baltimore Ravens, who beat the New York Giants in Super Cup 35.

The documentary “Black Widow” will be performed by ESPN Films in collaboration with Words + Pictures with director Ursula Liang (“9 People”, “Down the Dark Stairs”) and Kora Atkinson (“Summer of the Soul”) as a producer.

The Ravens is co-directed with NFL Films and co-directed by Ken Rogers and Jason Weber.

Peyton’s Places on ESPN + will expand with new shows hosted by Sue Byrd (University Basketball), John McEnroe (Tennis) and P.K. Subban (hockey).

Manning’s production company, Omaha Productions, will hold its first UFC Megacast on July 2 with UFC 276 in Las Vegas. His main topic was the fight for the middleweight championship between title holder Israel Odessan and Jared Canaan.

Peyton and Ellie Manning will host part of the ESPN Disney Upfront, which also features the Monday Football team of Buck, Aikman and Lisa Salters.
