The holiday weekend in America means celebrating what we love most: sales. Never one to give up on almost anything, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani makes a splash when the market is hot by promoting discounted foam sandals on Twitter.
“Great products at reasonable prices. Use code Rudy for extra savings,” President Trump’s former personal attorney tweeted late Thursday night, along with patriotic graphics that look like the spam you might find on your distant cousin’s hacked Facebook page with several styles of slide sandals from bedding and apparel brand MyPillow. (Giuliani is close to MyPillow founder and CEO Mike Lindell, who has supported Giuliani and Trump’s claims of fraud in the 2020 election.) The sandals, the graphic shows, are normally $79.98, but you can buy them with the promo code “RUDY “. for only $49.98.
Giuliani, who has sunk even deeper into a professional and cosmic freefall even in the past few days, with both the accusations of a presidential pardon request during a Jan. 6 House committee hearing and the alleged slap from a stranger in a Staten Island supermarket, tweeted several times from of posting the announcement last night just after 10:00 PM ET, putting the possibility of his Twitter account being hacked beyond reasonable doubt.
He has also currently limited public replies to his tweets, though none so far its potential mutual relations responded to the ad. All that said, it seems like just another day for Giuliani snake oil shoe sale, another dollar.
