Uwalde, Texas – Rob Elementary School, the site of the deadliest school shooting in Texas history, will be demolished.
During a city council meeting on Tuesday, Mayor Uwalde Don McLaughlin said he understood that the primary school would be demolished after talks with the district head.
“We could never ask a child to come back, or a teacher to come back to that school,” McLaughlin said.
This is just one of a series of revelations that the public learned about on Tuesday.
The director of the Texas Department of Public Safety, Colonel Stephen McCroy, revealed an even deeper understanding of the “complete failure” of the reaction to the shooting in Uwald during a Senate committee meeting.

Conclusions from McCro’s testimony on Tuesday included information about the time of the bombings that took place on May 24 – including the fact that there were “enough” armed officers in body armor who could stop the riot just three minutes after the shooter entered the building.
McCrow also revealed that the husband of the murdered primary school teacher Eva Mireles, who is a school district officer, tried to save Mireles, but he was not allowed to do so at the scene.
McLaughlin, however, says he has not heard any reports yet and law enforcement is keeping him unconscious while the investigation into the shooting continues.

“We’re in the dark, just like you, and we’re tired of it,” McLaughlin said.
