Tulsa, Akla. – Last in the final round of the PGA Championship (all local time):
The first big winners were not new to golf in this next generation of stars. The PGA Championship is no exception.
Mita Pereira of Chile leads in three strikes in the final round at the Southern Hills. He is trying to become the first PGA Tour rookie after Keegan Bradley in the 2011 PGA Championship, which won the major.
Chased by Matt Fitzpatrick of England and Will Zalataris. None won the major. Fitzpatrick is a two-time Rider Cup player from England. But he has only one finish in the top 10 in 24 previous tournaments in which he has played as a professional. Zlataris took second place in the Masters in 2021.
Until this week, Cameron Young has never shrunk in major classes. He is four shots behind.
Eight of the last 13 PGA champions have never won a major. This is about the same ratio for Masters and US Open.
The closest major champions to leadership are Stuart Zinc, Justin Thomas and Buba Watson. All seven shots behind.
The final group will start at 14:35
