NEW YORK – Baltimore Orioles pitcher Matt Harvey was disqualified for 60 games in the Premier League baseball on Tuesday for distributing a banned drug, due to the fact that he confessed to giving opioids to a teammate who overdosed on him.
The former New York Mets star also admitted in February during a federal lawsuit in Texas over the death of Los Angeles Angeles ’Tyler Skegs that he used cocaine while in New York and California.
Harvey, a 33-year-old right-hander, last month agreed to a contract with the Orioles, which provided for a $ 150,000 salary in the lower league, $ 1 million in the major league and a $ 500,000 appointment bonus when trading under a major league contract. He trained at the Baltimore Training Base in the spring and has not played in a single game.

During the trial of former Los Angeles Angels employee Eric Kay Harvey, pitchers Mike Maureen and Cam Bedrosyan and first-person CJ Crown testified and described drug use for leisure that allegedly took place in and around the Angels when they played for the team.
Saying he was summoned to court and testified only because he had immunity from prosecution, Harvey admitted to using cocaine before and during the 2019 season with the Angels. He said he tried oxycodone, which was given to a pitcher of Tyler Skegs during the season with the Angels, and also gave drugs to Skegs.
Skags was found dead in a hotel room in a Dallas suburb on July 1, 2019, the day the Angels were to open a four-game series against the Texas Rangers. Kay was convicted on one charge of drug distribution, which led to his death and drug conspiracy. On June 28, he faces from 20 years to life imprisonment.

Harvey nicknamed the Dark Knight of Gotham was selected by the Mets seventh under overall seventh place in the 2010 Amateur Draft and made his Premier League debut in 2012. He started the 2013 All-Star Game at Citi Field, but just over a month later tore his elbow collateral ligament into his throwing elbow and required Tommy John’s surgery.
Harvey returned in 2015 and went 13-8, helping the Mets reach the World Series, where he persuaded manager Terry Collins to allow him to win the ninth inning against Kansas City in Game 5. Harvey bypassed Lorenzo Kane and allowed RBI to duplicate Eric Hosmer, Salvador Perez struck a balance from the Jeurys Familia, and the royal team won the 12th inning, which gave them the title.
Harvey was sold in Cincinnati in May 2018 and played for the Angels in 2019, in Kansas City in 2020 and in Baltimore last year when he was 6-14 with an ERA of 6.27. He has a career record of 50-66 with a 4.42 ERA in nine major league seasons.
