Tulsa, Akla. – Last at the PGA Championship (all local):

7:25 p.m.

The PGA Championship started in the South Hills with a multiple field that included Tiger Woods in one of the morning pairs, but not the reigning champion after Phil Mickelson stepped down amid control last week.

Woods was to travel with Jordan Spit and Rory McIlroy in a group that is sure to have a massive crowd in every corner of Perry Maxwell’s compact, recently rebuilt layout near downtown Tulsa.

This trio together won 22 major championships.

As for Mickelson, the reigning PGA champion has decided to extend his golf break after incendiary comments he made about the Saudi-funded rival league, which is set to host its first event next month in London.

Bryson DeChambo also went missing after he left on Wednesday to give more time to heal his injured wrist.
