BAY LAKE, FL. – Walt Disney World is preparing to open its long-awaited new attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
The family-run amusement ride is about to cover a whole new area of World Discovery Theme Park.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is the first pavilion of the “other world” at EPCOT.
Disney said the ride is one of the longest fully enclosed roller coasters in the world and the first Disney roller coaster to have a reverse.
Omnicoaster cars are also out of this world, rotating 360 degrees to focus guests ’eyes on the whole action.
Last Thursday, Disney gave the media its first look at the landmark.
“I’d say it’s very‘ EPCOT ’, which means storytelling, but it also brings a level of thrill and fun, I think our EPCOT guests will enjoy it,” said Tom Fitzgerald, creative executive director of Disney Imagineering. “If you have guardians, you know you’ll have fun.”
When guests enter the wonders of the Xandar Pavilion, they will see a number of things before boarding.

Guests will enter the Galaxy, a vast planetarium-style space showcasing planets, stars and other intergalactic wonders. Planets and stars change over time as guests zigzag around the room.
The tour will then explore the Xander Gallery, the Xander People’s Showcase, the culture and unique history told in the exhibits, some of which include things that Guardians fans may have seen before.
The tour of the pavilion ends at the Phase Chamber, where guests are instantly teleported from EPCOT to the cruiser Nova Corps Starcharter, which revolves around the Earth.
On the Starcharter cruiser, guests are introduced to a number of characters, including the Guardians of the Galaxy.
“Of course, as happens when guardians come in, all bets are canceled,” Fitzgerald said. “And all of Xander’s plans for how this pavilion should go are set aside, and we are called to carry out a mission to help save the galaxy.”

Guests watch as something goes wrong, and Esan, Celestial, says he intends to use a space generator to jump back in time and change the course of humanity.
Guests then board a stellar hopper or rescue capsule and join the Guardians of the Galaxy in an intergalactic pursuit to save the galaxy. No attraction “Guardians of the Galaxy” would be complete without an amazing mix tape.
“We have invested a lot here. Lots of shows, lots of Easter eggs, a lot of variety in the songs, because we know you’ll want to come back and ride again and again, ”Fitzgerald said.
“There are six different songs and you won’t know which song you get before launch,” said Kevin Doxie, set designer for Walt Disney Imagineering. “No one will be able to take everything at once. We spent a lot of time on the details and made sure everything was perfect for our guests. ”

When Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opens, guests will need to have a virtual return time or a separate lightning strip.
The roller coaster ride has two separate loading stations. Guests must be 42 inches to ride, and children under 7 must be accompanied by a person 14 years of age or older.
Within walking distance of the attraction, guests can visit the Treasures of Xandar gift shop. The store offers fashion items, accessories, home decor items, collectibles and toys on the theme of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
The new attraction will open on May 27.
