Nick Cave is well known as a musician, composer and even screenwriter.
But his 23-year-old wife, Susie Cave (as Bick), has quietly become an energy in the world of fashion design, creating The Vampire’s Wife, a celebrity-favorite label with one dress that Vogue dubbed the “dress of the decade.”
The couple have settled into a gothic lifestyle on the south coast of England, and their lives are led by Susie in her popular Instagram account.

64-year-old Nick and 55-year-old Susie live with their son Earl, 21, in a quaint house in Brighton, 75 miles south of London.
Photos of Susie’s home showcase the couple’s extensive stylistic influences, with pink walls and Victorian furniture.
Another photo shows a couple usually dressed in black, dressed in pastel and posing in front of a pair of painted pink flamingo sculptures on a mantelpiece.
Her Instagram account has 142,000 followers.
Meanwhile, Bick’s fashion label is headquartered in an abandoned Victorian Sunday school in Lewis, which dates back to 1860.

The label’s name is taken from one of Nick’s abandoned novels and has become a cult favorite among celebrities.
The vampire’s wife was created in 2014 in a small studio in Brighton, the clothes are made in Poland.
Susie’s fashion label was worn by people like Cate Blanchett, Cate Moss, Florence Welch, Ruth Negga and Kylie Minogue.
They were also worn by members of the royal family: Kate Middleton and Princess Beatrice wore it to the wedding of Prince Harry and Megan Markle in 2018.
When her husband’s career blossomed, Susie found herself being invited to a list A party: “I started designing clothes for myself because I couldn’t find anything to wear.”

But the couple’s glamorous life together for years has been marred by tragedy.
First, their son Arthur died tragically 15 years after the fall 60 feet before his death from a cliff in Owingdin, near Brighton, in July 2015.
The teenager, whom the family describes as a “beautiful, happy, loving boy”, was taking the hallucinogenic drug LSD, the investigation later revealed.

While Susie’s own label is the epitome of whimsical fashion, Susie unfortunately knows little about the “lightness” of her clothes.
“I struggle with some things that have happened in my life and can sometimes be in a pretty dark place,” she said in 2018.
“I get lost when I design. Time just flies. In fact, it is an absolute gift, because the worst has happened to me. I direct all the positive energy I can to creating clothes. ”
The loss of her son, the twins, left Susie completely lost.

Unable to work, leave the house and see no one, Susie retreated. Photos of Arthur’s investigation show her hiding her face behind a curtain of raven-black hair, her shoulders shrugging as she clung to Nick for support.
And three months later the bell rang. “I got a call from Daisy Lowe – model daughter Pearl Lowe and family friend – and she said she needed a dress for the awards ceremony and would I make it for her?
“So I lingered in the office to find the red cloth. And she wore it. And I saw it photographed. It was a breakthrough. From then on, I went to work every day.
Susie’s label is Kate Middleton’s favorite. The Duchess was impressed in a shiny green dress when she joined Prince William at an evening reception at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin in 2020.
The 40-year-old Kate wore a pink dress from a British designer worth £ 2,500 to the floor for an evening reception in honor of Her Majesty the Queen’s platinum anniversary during a royal tour of the Caribbean in March this year.
“What was physically demanding allowed me to temporarily not think about anything else,” she said.
“When Arthur died, I didn’t think I could continue. If you lose a child, nothing will relieve the pain, ever. But I realized if I could focus on something outside of what happened, that if I could separate myself from it all, even for a few seconds, and start creating things in these moments of escapism, then that might be the important thing . ‘
This month the couple suffered even more tragedies. Earlier this month, Nick’s eldest son, Jethro Laisenby, died at the age of 30.
“With great sadness I can confirm that my son Jethro has passed away,” Nick said in a statement. “We will be grateful for the privacy of the family at this time.”

Jetro was born to his Melbourne model mother Bo Lessenby in 1991, just 10 days before Nick had a second son, Luke.
The musician and his eldest son had a “tense” relationship and met only when Jethro was seven or eight years old.
After Arthur’s death Nick and Susie moved from Brighton to Los Angeles before returning to England.
Last year, the rocker was asked on the Q&A website by Red Hand Files fans why he decided to leave Brighton.
This month the couple suffered even more tragedies. Earlier this month, Nick’s eldest son, Jethro Laisenby (pictured here), died at the age of 30.
In response, the star spoke about his track Bad Seeds Heart That Kills You, which he said was “clearly written” when he mourned Arthur.
“The lyrics of the song in some way explain why Susie [his wife] and I moved from Brighton to Los Angeles, ”he explained. “Brighton has just become too boring.
“However, we came back as soon as we realized that no matter where we lived, we just took the sadness with us.
“But these days we spend most of our time in London, in a tiny secret pink house where we’re mostly happy.”
In addition to Earl, Nick has another son, 30-year-old Luke, from his first marriage to Brazilian journalist Vivian Carneiro.

Bella Freud, a mutual friend, introduced Susie to Nick, who made sure their paths crossed at a party at the Natural History Museum in London.
“He found me under T-Rex,” Susie recalled.
They were married at the registrar’s office in Richmond, south-west London, followed by a blessing at a chapel in Surrey in 1999.
