BOSTAN – Right-handed Houston Astros Jake Odarizzi collapsed, running to cover first base in the fifth inning on Monday night against the Boston Red Sox and was taken off the field by Fenway Park on a stretcher.

Adarica, who entered the game with a series of 15 2/3 of the half, awkwardly twisted his left leg during the delivery of Kike Hernandez. When he turned to cover the first base, he took a step and then lay face down on the grass.

He stayed there after the exit was recorded, and Astros staff rushed to look after him. He was loaded on a stretcher and taken away.

This season Odorizzi was 3-2 with a 3.13 ERA. The Red Sox led 2-1 when he left the game.
