NICOLA Charles has sensationally revealed she was axed from the latest episode of Neighbors because of her stance on the coronavirus.
The 52-year-old told The Daily Telegraph on Friday that she believed her vaccine status was the reason she chose not to return it.
“I’ve been canceled because I’m not vaccinated,” she told the publication, adding that she’s “been canceled all over the place for speaking her truth” about Covid and vaccines.
Nicola rose to fame after her debut as Carl Kennedy’s sassy lover Sarah Beaumont in Neighbors in 1995.
She had a recurring role until 1999 and returned twice from 2012 to 2013 and then again in 2016.
The star said on Friday that she was not impressed with how the final episode went.
“In the end, I was relieved that Sarah Beaumont wasn’t involved in the maelstrom offered in the last episode of Neighbours,” she added.
In 2020, Nicola talked about her fight with the coronavirus in a candid interview.
At the time, the actress-turned-author said she was “still not over” the virus, which “kept her down” for more than six weeks in March 2020.
Describing her experience at Studio 10, she said: “I felt a really strange thrill in my veins.
“I consider myself very spiritual, and I had this overwhelming feeling that what was inside me was not human.”
She also shared a photo of her self-described “zombie eye” on Instagram, explaining that one of the symptoms was her eye becoming “totally red and zombie-like.”
The mother-of-three added that during the lowest point of her illness, she was “suffocating” on the floor on her hands and knees.
Fitness fanatic Nicola, who usually runs 26km a week, added: “I’m still not over it. When it gets to you, it’s harder than anything else that’s ever happened.”
