The former chief political correspondent for Fox News has joined a chorus of voices calling for serious action against Tucker Carlson, one of the network’s most prominent voices.

Carl Cameron was asked, “Do you think the Murdoch family in charge of Fox will ever give up on Tucker?” during Jim Acosta’s interview with CNN on Saturday.

The 60-year-old Cameron likened Carlson’s broadcasts to a false shout of “Fire” in a crowded movie theater.

“The fact is that if you disturb the peace by rioting in a movie theater, the police will arrest you and you could end up in jail, or you could end up in something worse.”

Cameron further called on President Joe Biden to take serious action against Carlson and social media.

Tucker Carlson, one of Fox News’s most popular presenters, has for years faced accusations that he promoted conversations of white nationalists

“The president needs to be more resolute, and sooner or later the law enforcement and the US government will have to stop lying because it leads to the death of people,” he said.

“It’s not just Fox, it’s social media in general. It’s online. And we need to remember that much of what we read comes from non-Americans pretending to be Americans to make it worse to kill them.

Carlson, host of the night show of the same name on Fox, again came under close scrutiny after a shooting at a Buffalo supermarket that killed 10 African Americans on May 14.

It turned out that the suspect in the shooting, Peyton S. Hendron, was a subscriber to the white nationalist “Theory of the Great Substitution.”

The theory is something Carlson has repeatedly accused of in his show.

It argues that non-white immigration is a liberal attempt to change the cultural landscape of the United States.

Cameron, who left Fox in 2017, offered to censor and de-platform Carlson because he “releases lies that cause harm and cruel, cruel hatred”.

While working for Fox News, Cameron was nicknamed the “Carl Company” when he followed various political campaigns across the country.

After leaving the network, Cameron founded his own news website Front Page Live.

In Saturday’s comments, Cameron doubled the comments he made in an interview with Nicole Wallace of MSNBC on May 17th.

In that interview, Cameron said President Biden should “take some last names and put people in jail” after last week’s massacre in Buffalo last week.

Cameron first began criticizing his former employer in 2019 after Shepherd Smith left Fox.

In the past, Cameron has criticized Carlson's coverage of the January 6 Capitol riot and the Covid-19 vaccine.

The network responded with a statement claiming that Cameron could not show up for work regularly, adding that they showed him “compassion, patience and kindness” during his “numerous personal encounters”, Mediaite reports.

In an interview with MSNBC last month, Wallace asked Cameron how Fox executives can cope with the fact that many of Peyton Hendron’s beliefs reflect the issues raised in Carlson’s show.

He replied, “I can’t even imagine. That’s why I got out of there. ”

This is not the first time Cameron has criticized Carlson by name. In July 2021, he appeared on CNN’s New Day program to accuse the presenter of spreading misinformation about the Covid-19 vaccine.

On Carlson’s coverage, he said: “This is not news. This is gaslighting. This is propaganda. ”

Cameron also criticized Fox News for making a Carlson documentary about the January 6 Capitol riot called The Purge of the Patriots. He called the documentary “really scary” and “betrayal of the audience,” according to The Huffington Post.

While in 2019, Cameron told CNN in an interview that Fox News’s prime-time opinion was too much for him, which led to his departure from the network.
