In April 2022, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Service detained 234,088 migrants at the southern border. This is the highest number of monthly arrests in CBP history and an increase of 1,268 percent compared to April 2020.
What has changed in the last two years? In 2020, we had a president who worked to protect our border and protect American citizens from drug traffickers who tried to smuggle banned substances into our country. We now have a president who welcomed illegal immigrants to our country with open arms. Thanks to President Joe Biden’s immigration policy, every state in America is now a border state. Thanks to his failed border policy, President Biden has handed over operational control of America’s southern border to drug cartels.

In his first 100 days in office, President Biden issued more than 90 immigration lawsuits, including halting the construction of President Trump’s $ 72 million taxpayer’s border wall and halting the Trump administration’s successful “Stay in Mexico” policy. asylum seekers are waiting in Mexico for a trial in the United States. Thanks to President Biden’s efforts to dismantle the US border protection and immigration system, the number of deaths from drug overdoses reached a new record last year.
The Wall Street Journal reports that more than 100,000 Americans have died from drug overdoses in 2021. Provisional data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that about two-thirds of these deaths came from synthetic opioids such as fentanyl. To date, CBP has seized more than 5,000 pounds of fentanyl in fiscal 2022. That’s enough to kill 2.4 billion people – almost one-third of the world’s population. Fentanyl can be 50 times stronger than heroin, and it is easier to produce with drug cartels because it can be made from conventional chemicals.
Drug cartels are extremely brutal and tactical. They have built complex tunnels that allow them to smuggle drugs into our country, they often send flows of migrants to the southern border to overwhelm border agents, and force their migrants to act like drug addicts, carrying marijuana and poppy seeds so their producers can work on American land.
Merrick Garland, President Biden’s Attorney General, has made it clear that the Justice Department will avoid repression against marijuana use in states that have legalized cannabis. This has prompted drug cartels to produce cannabis, which is “growing” in cannabis-prone states, where thousands of migrants are smuggled across the southern border.
A striking example is Oregon, where Mexican, Russian and Chinese criminal organizations operate in the southern part of the state. In November 2021, Oregon police uncovered a massive illegal marijuana operation in Jackson County. The drug business at five warehouses found about 500,000 pounds of illegal marijuana. Authorities estimated the value of the drugs seized during the operation alone at $ 500 million.
When asked for additional manpower to combat drug cartels that abused the Justice Department’s approach to the federal marijuana prosecution, Attorney General Garland did not respond.
In 2021, the Biden administration reduced deportations by about 68 percent, the lowest level in 26 years. Because illegal immigrants can easily say they are “seeking asylum” and Speaker Pelosi’s Congress has refused to fix our broken immigration system, more than 2.6 million illegal immigrants have been detained on our southern border since Joe Biden took control of the White House. That’s more than the population of Houston, Texas – the fourth largest city in America. The asylum laws we have in the books must be completely destroyed and rewritten to address this catastrophe of mass migration.
If the Biden administration does not repeal its open door policy and failed border security program, illegal immigrants and transnational criminal organizations will continue to flood across our open border, and every state – no matter where it is – will be a border state in Biden’s America.

Republicans in the House of Representatives have a plan to break the homemade border crisis of Democrats.
