A neighbor has recalled the dramatic moment he raced to the scene of Anne Hech’s car crash seconds after the horrific crash.
David Manpearl heard Hech’s car speeding down Mar Vista Street at what he believed to be 90 miles per hour before crashing into the family home.
Manpearl’s doorbell camera captured video of Heche’s Mini Clubman speeding down South Walgrove Avenue, a normally quiet road, before a loud crash was heard seconds later as the actress lost control of her car.
Montperl’s home office overlooks his backyard on a quiet residential street about five houses from where Heche crashed.

“At about 10:50 a.m. I heard a car go by and looked out the window to see a car going about 90 mph. A few seconds later I heard a loud crash and ran outside in my flip flops because I knew someone was hurt and I was right,” he told DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview.
Manpearl, who lived in the family’s neighborhood, said he ran to the intersection where the Mini crashed into the house.
“Before approaching the car, I saw the resident of the house standing barefoot among the rubble. She was shocked and frantically begging me to help get her pets out of the house. I managed to get the leashes for her two small dogs and get her out of the house. She had two dogs and a turtle with her.”
Manpearl explained how he then went to the car to help the driver, who was trapped inside between the airbag and the seat.
“I tried to talk to her a few times, asking if she was okay, but she wouldn’t answer, so I had to get closer. I was able to open the back door of the car and crawled halfway inside. This time, when I asked her if she was okay, she said no.’

Manpearl asked Heche if she could raise her hand to see if she was okay and she said no and grunted a bit. At that moment, the hero neighbor felt water dripping on him, but realized that another neighbor was spraying the car with a hose, which had now caught fire and quickly spread through the walls of the house.
“I tried to talk to her again and noticed it was getting smoky and there were flames to my right and left, so I quickly got out of the car.”
The engineer made his way to the front of the house and tried to put out the flames with another hose, but realized it was useless as the whole house was on fire.
By this time, about ten fire engines have arrived at the scene.
“I was sure the driver was dead. To burn it. It took firefighters at least 30 minutes to extinguish the flames, extricate the car and extricate her from the car.”
“I was surprised to learn that it was Ann Hech. I think I knew she had problems in the past.’
The owner of the house, along with all her pets, including the turtle, spent the rest of the day at the Manpearl house, where neighbors brought her food and clothes. LAFD said her entire home is now destroyed.

The actress, who dated Ellen DeGeneres before they split in the late 1990s, suffered severe burns and was intubated but is expected to survive the horrific accident.
Hechie was driving her blue Mini Clubman in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles when she made her career in garage of the residential complex.
Local residents rushed to help the injured actress with one man who demanded to get out of the car. She ignored the advice and restarted the ignition, put it in reverse and sped down the road at speed with the tires screeching.

The horrific crash saw the car burst into flames before Heche was pulled away by firefighters and taken to hospital in an ambulance.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said it took 59 firefighters 65 minutes to extinguish the “persistent flames” and “rescue one adult female who was found inside the vehicle.”
“There was tons of smoke in the house. I think they used a crane to move the car to get the driver out. It was crazy,” an eyewitness told NBC Los Angeles.
Aerial images showed her with brutal scars on her back from the fire after her top appeared to be ripped open by the heat, and she writhed on a stretcher in pain.
According to Fox 11, firefighters were able to extinguish the flames within about an hour, but Heche suffered serious burns from the blaze and is currently in intensive care.
“If there’s anyone alive there, it’s going to be a miracle,” Fox 11 reporter Stu Mandel said as he watched from a helicopter hovering above the scene.

“Her condition prevents doctors from performing any tests to determine if she was driving under the influence of alcohol,” according to TMZ.
